Not only do I applaud your artistic endeavors, but I second the nomination of Gilbert for President. I’d also like to nominate Kareem’s jacket as his running mate. I’m pretty sure it’s shot at least a couple people in the face, even if it was only with a bow & arrows.

Plus, he could just wear the jacket everywhere.

    Arenas 2008!

Wow. Will you illustrate the childrens book I’m writing?

If they star Tyronne Lue… yes.

[…] Last night’s Wiz-Cavs game got everyone’s creative juices flowing — Farlane reports on Bizarro LeBron’s disaster of a game while J.E. Skeets looks at Agent Zero’s growing ego. […]

i’m sick of these goddamn pingbacks from the Bad Boys (who are so bad they couldn’t help but get swept by the big 3). Agent Zero’s growing ego??? Gil is perhaps the MOST humble player in the league, it’s his rep that’s growing.
The guy works out for about four hours a day not counting official team workouts. He pretty much lives off of his per diem during the season, and he’s never been on Cribs. The Detroit Bad Boys are just a little bitter because their fans LOVE the black prez….

Something tells me we can settle this in a couple months (or whenever the second round commences).

    That is hilarious, Skeets.

as always, skeets is the nick cannon of blogging…he’s hilarious.

I don’t know majority, I do think think that the ego is a bit bigger than before. Did you see the halftime special for game 1? “I’m going to take care of his schooling costs..” So what? I don’t care, Gilbert. Just do it, don’t tell me about it.

UM: DBB loves Agent Zero — his ego deserves to grow because he’s freaking awesome.

  10. Ian Cameron at 3:02 pm on 04.26.2006

    Not so fast, Chatty Preponderance.

Agent Zero’s a star, no doubt. But isn’t Brendan Haywood still starting for the ‘Zards?

His presence alone is a net negative, bringing your big three down to about 2.5.

    So, by my math:

    (the league’s best starting) 5 > (”the big”) 2.5

    I likes them odds.

Skeets how does it feel to be compared to Nick Cannon. I have to say I’d be horrified.

  12. J.E. Skeets at 3:27 pm on 04.26.2006

I’ve always wanted to be a Harlem street drummer, but “Nick Cannon”? Yikes. Am I THAT bad? Seriously now…

come on people, show some love to dave chappelle’s kid

Tony- the media has been begging gil to talk about his little brother for some time now, he kept his mouth shut for a while but when ABC needs an interview during primetime of the first playoff game they’re gonna get it. I still fail to see how paying for a kid’s college education (and having the gall to mention it) is a sign of an inflated ego. After all we (i.e. bullets/wizards fans) have had to put up with from our “superstars” of the past 20 years he comes accross as the most down to earth player in the league (even if he is from another planet)

  14. Sean at 7:10 pm on 04.26.2006

Unsilent, I’ll have to disagree. Gil always thinks in terms of himself, never the team. Hence the quotes like, “I had to play the distributor today and get my teammates involved. Next game I’ll go back to being me.” So he does pass it, but never compeltely unselfishly. I suppose that’s good too but he’s not humble at all to me.

And very nice cartoon. Anyone see Gil’s butt-grinding on the scorer’s table last night?

  15. Unsilent Majority at 7:15 pm on 04.26.2006

gil is consumed with winning no matter what role he plays, judging a guy on a quote is ridiculous.
regular season: 29 points 6 assists
game two: 30 points 6 assits

just another day in the oval office of the black president.

  16. Give Me The Rock » Best. Playoffs. EVER. at 10:26 am on 04.29.2006

[…] Next up on the hit list. The King himself. While we may all be witnesses, the referees last night missed him walking on water. I’m a little surprised YaySports was actually able to post this morning, but you’ll notice that Brian aka The Cavalier conveniently glosses over the game last night in favor of some self-indulgent book-type idea. I shant say too much more, since I do actually want the Cavs to win, but the fact that Gilbert Arenas (for President 2008), missed a wide-open 3-pointer was pretty incredible. […]

  18. The Basketball Jones » Arenas’ Awesomeness Level Dips at 8:10 am on 08.31.2006

[…] Oh Gilbert, Gilbert, Gilbert … *shaking head* … save the piss-ass, sorry excuses for when you miss the 2-7 split, would you? Yeah, as much as I love Gilbert — and my God, I wasted a whole night drawing a damn comic strip of him once — these comments come off as a little to, “boo-hoo-hoo, why don’t they love me; why don’t they understand me?”-ish too me. […]

  19. The Basketball Jones » Gilbert Arenas, Esquire at 7:28 am on 10.13.2006

[…] I’ve always been a pretty big Arenas fan — see: the Zero bar, Gilbert comics, the “interview” — but after reading this PRODIGIOUS Esquire profile … well, let’s just say I’m seriously considering buying his TH-reads. Here’s the worst part of the article: “On the road, I eat hamburgers every day. The team tries to get me to eat differently, but no. Burgers, burgers, burgers. I like burgers. McDonald’s burgers. Wendy’s burgers. Burger King burgers. There’s this one place in Canada—I even look at the schedule to find out when we play there—best burger I’ve ever tasted. Real soft and sweet. I ate twelve of them in one night.” […]
