Quickies: Team USA Edition
Some quick thoughts while trying to convince the guys to name our rec league team Touching Chris Kaman:
- “It. Is. A. Privilege. To. Put. On. A. U.S.A. Uniform.” Jeesh LeBron, lighten up you robot.
- Henry at True Hoop added the four, divided by seven, carried the two … and finally has figured out this weekend’s cryptic FIBA schedule for us Eastern folk. (Note: US/Australia, Sun. Aug 27, 12:00am EST.)
- SI.com’s Kelly Dwyer analyzes and ranks the Final 16, and sees Team USA saluting all the way to the end: “BOTTOM LINE: It won’t be pretty, but they should dig down deep enough to pull out the gold.” I can’t disagree. Do you? (I’m looking at you Mannix.)
- The best FIBA store product is officially a toss-up. I mean, my heart says to buy the pink guitar, but my mind says go with the referee pants. Help!
- Warning to The Cavalier, Hype is getting awfully good at this Photoshop stuff: Limited edition Aryvdas Sabonis NBA Live covers.
- Bonus: My Buffalo Bills season preview — and heart — is now up at Deadspin. Any Bills fans here? I’m sorry.
