The Titanic Has Docked

The Atlantic Division is back! According to the NBA Blog Previews, no one in the division will win less than 40 games. It’ll be a crazy feat if it happens but each blogger presents very convincing arguments as to why his team can do it (Philadelphia’s loss to FC Barcelona last night not withstanding). The group headed by New Jersey is followed by 4 teams that missed the playoffs last year – Philly, Boston, Toronto and New York.
You know it’s a special time of year when people are excited about Knickerbocker basketball.

F’real, how does a team expect to make the playoffs when it loses like that to a European team?
One thing I had been planning to do on TrueHoop, when these previews are all done, is tally up the combined records. I bet the league, as a whole, will win about 75% of games.
Heh, and who are the teams that are doing the losing??
Of course, some of the arguments are more convincing than others …
Henry, I’m planning to look at the same thing. So far, blog previews have the Atlantic Division averaging 45-37, whereas Vegas is predicting an average of 36-46.
we’ll see about all that, i’m heading to the wizards/raptors exhibition game on monday.
see, here’s my theory
the league will introduce the Washington Generals into league play, thus increasing everyone win totals except for the Generals
Peter Angelos will own the Nationals and will stick it to the Wizards with an unfair TV rights agreement
