Interview With A Jones-pire
I had no idea what to title this post. Can you tell?
Like many others, I absolutely love the work Jason Gurney does with lowpost.net.
In fact, I spend so much time over there — checking recent threads, reading his blog, making sure I write more posts than YAYsports! — that on more than one occasion I’ve accidentally written ‘lowpost.net’ as my current place of address. Yeah, not healthy…
So, it was a great honor for me to wake up this past Saturday to talk with Jason about the Basketball Jones site and podcast — and ‘03 Draft/TMNT comparisons — as part of a continuing feature he’s doing on interviewing basketball bloggers. (See previous interviewees: Abbott, Henry and Gossip, Suns.)
Anyway, if you’re up for more of me–you have a problem, and should probably get that checked out.
Many thanks/apologies to Jason for having me on/trying to transcribe my never-ending babble.

video podcasting! coolies, but what’s next? TBJ-flavoured beverages?
My memory could be failing me…but I’m pretty sure Donatello used the bo staff, and he wore a purple headband, not blue. The pictured turtle (Leonardo, or so I infer from the blue headband) should be wielding two katana.
I’m nearly 30 years old. Is it bad that this picture is bothering me so much?
Great interview. The ninja turtle makes me feel OLD.
In the video games, Donatello (LeBron) has the longest range, although he could not inflict as much damage as Leonardo (Wade). This is apt given that Wade has a championship.
Donatello kicks ass. He freakin’ makes purple look cool!
Ah, another intriguing aspect of these turtles. That is Donatello in the pic but his headband does look very blue.
It was confusing then and it still is now.
Hmm…Indeed, I do believe you are correct, Tas. My monitor at home does show the headband as much more purple.
I did a bit of research, too… On the newer toys (of which this is one), Leonardo’s blue headband is a much paler blue.
This only took about a half hour of research, but the disquiet that had plaqued me regarding the picture has now been quelled, and now I feel I may actually be able to sleep tonight.
Oh, and Donatello ruled all. I’m totally with Skeets on Donatello being the true leader of the bunch.
Skeets:
No problem; thanks for the kind words.
“many others” = a dozen NBA bloggers.
Futile:
You’re right–lately Leonardo seems to wear more of a Tar Heels blue: http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/12inch_Leonardo_TMNT-01.jpg
