Ep. 093: Listen Up, Soldier

It’s Tuesday — time to grade your seniority and command …

The Basketball Jones ‘The Fix’ — Episode 093 (.mp3)

In today’s show, Skeets and I discuss Marc Stein’s ESPN Power Rankings: Stein’s curse on the Suns; 6 of the top 12 from the Leastern Conference?; the teams we can’t figure out where to rank; and much, much, more…

We also ponder a conspiracy surrounding Gilbert Arenas being voted in as an All-Star, hand out our Whoa Boy fantasy line-of-the-night, and lose our Book It! because, like that kid in your phys ed class who never used deodorant, we stink!

    Stinky Pete Nordoff!

  2. Chad Watson at 10:13 am on 01.30.2007

Book it tonight. Lakers over Knicks. I don’t know the line, but Kobe is going to be pissed that they blew the lead to the Spurs on Sunday, and he may want to show Jamal Crawford what’s what when it comes to dropping a fifty-deuce.

Alright guys, this is it. This is your pep talk. You’re going to get tonight’s game right and you’re going to make a lot of money, and you want to know why? Because I don’t want to live in a world where Skeets and Melas are wrong, it’s CHAOS. Up is down, left is right, the suns are losing. So you guys get out there and gamble like we all know you’re capable of.

    Love Stinky Pete.

D-Rock. No Kobe (suspension), no Luke no Kwame. Eddy Curry is back.

The Knicks have been playing better. There is NO WAY we could take the Lake-show, although the public likes them for some weird reason.

  8. James at 3:41 pm on 01.30.2007

I actually think the Knicks are a pretty good pick tonight. Especially since Stevie Franchise apparently still isnt fit to play even tho he’s back with the team.

Maybe the Cavs; to show what they can do without the King? Nah… who am I kidding.

  9. The District Celtic at 5:10 pm on 01.30.2007

Wow…the public likes the Lakers? That’s new. Still, Knicks is definitely a good pick considering the Lakers who aren’t going to be there. Although, I think the fact that there’s no Kwame is actually an advantage for LA because of what Andrew Bynum’s been doing. But who knows.

I agree with that comment. No Kwame, no cry. I’d actually like if he was back for the Knicks’ sake.

I’m not shaving until you guys win a Book It!

  12. KD at 8:50 pm on 01.30.2007

I haven’t shaved since Bonzi signed with Houston. It’s an obscure protest, but a relevant one.
