Ep. 102: Tim Hardaway …

Would think this is some sort of European come on move.

The Basketball Jones ‘The Fix’ — Episode 102 (.mp3)

In today’s show, Skeets and I discuss: the blatant anti-homosexual remarks made by former NBA player Tim Hardaway; the surprisingly pleasant response to Hardaway’s comments by John Amaechi; all the B-listers who have joined this weekend’s All-Star game; and much, much, more…

We also mock Vince Carter’s mocking, hand out our Whoa Boy fantasy line-of-the-night and get our fingers back on the pulse of the NBA.

Hey guys — great ‘cast, keep it up.

When you made the comment that Stern must be beside himself because Amaechi-gate is heating up right before the allstar break, I couldn’t help but wonder at Amaechi’s timing for his original statement.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that he came out in public a month before the all star break? Was he angling to get this issue out in the open and create an issue the league would have to deal with, knowing about all the idiot-players that would make ridiculous follow-on statements in public, a la Hardaway?

Two observations from Key Arena last night:

    1) Phoenix look absolutlely lost without Nash playing. Skeets is right, the Nash-less Suns would struggle to make the playoffs.

    2) Ray Allen is a stud and deserves his All-Star selection. He exudes so much confidence, and I doubt there is a better shooter in the league.
