Ep. 106: Little Movin’, Less Shakin’

The Basketball Jones ‘The Fix’ — Episode 106 (.mp3)

In today’s show, Tas and I breakdown Thursday’s “blockbuster” trade deadline deals; speculate what the hold up was in the Kidd to Lakers talk; congratulate the Grizzlies on keeping Pau Gasol; and much, much, more…

We also show T-Mac some much deserved MVP-love, hand out a monster Whoa Boy fantasy line-of-the-night and try to decide once and for all whether there is or isn’t a system. Ugh!

Regarding the Lakers not trading for Kidd… what are they waiting for? Kobe won’t be around when Bynum reaches his peak, so I don’t think he’d be happy that the trade didn’t go through. I know the Lakers have a history of building around great big men, but they should be pushing for another title in the Kobe/Phil era.

True Kobe will be past his prime when Bynum reaches his but isn’t Kidd + Kobe just a slightly enhanced version of Kidd + Vince?

Fair point… but Kobe knows how to win down the stretch, and I think Phil + Lamar is a lot better than Lawrence + injury-plagued-Jefferson.
