Just say the word!

The Basketball Jones Podcast — Episode 182 (.mp3)

On today’s show, Tas and I discuss: the latest free agent signings (Rashard, Vince, Luke, etc.); those big draft day deals (Z-Bo to NY, Jesus to Boston, J-Rich to Charlotte); Eazy Yi and Milwaukee’s Asian population; whether the East is finally gaining some ground; and much, much, more …

Oh, all that, and turbo cereal? Mind blasting!

    wow.
    best. podcast. ever.
seriously. I kind of died. my roommate even looked at me like I was a crazy person.
that’s my request for future Joneses- more hilarity.

and I might be alone here, but Darko is MY most coveted free agent.

and I know EXACTLY what dance the Tas was doing:

    Race in Milwaukee (2000 census)

    White 46.7%
    Black 39.5%
    Native American 0.8%
    Asian 3.6%
    Pacific Islander 0.05%
    Other race 7.3%
    Two or more races 2.1%
    Hispanic 13.3%

As of 2000 census there were 1,500,741 people in Milwaukee. So, there was approx. 54,000+ Asian people here then. The point to take from this, I guess, is that at least Yi isn’t a Pacific Islander, and if he was Other Race, the Bucks would be in good shape.

The Bucks should just bring Yi to Cudahy Hall at Marquette. Then everything will be cool like water chestnuts.

I’m right with you Becky, great PodCast.

Holy crap…did I hear an Eric Lindros reference? At least throw out Danny Ferry’s name when comparing someone to Yi.
Another great show! Glad I found the ‘cast, though I found it way too late.

I thought it was an Eric Fontana (aka Eeeee) reference. What happened to that guy?

very good podcast! I know there isn’t much NBA to talk about during the summer, but i would be content with a podcast of you guys just insulting each other and comparing your NBA skills. very entertaining!

As a blazer fan, at first glance i hated the NY deal. The Blazers got 50 cents on the dollar for a legit 20 and 10. If Z-bo gets his touches, i expect him to dominate the East. Looking at the deal closer though, Frye will be a nice backup to LaMarcus and Oden, and the Blazers will have a LOT of cap space in two years when they could sign a big time free agent. This will come at a time when Roy, LaMarcus, and Oden will have had enough time to gell and create a formidable force. Imagine signing Chris Paul with that force! Things look bright for Blazer fans in the future.

As for improvements to the show, i don’t know if you guys follow any other sports as closely as basketball, but maybe you could do a segment on other current sporting news. A few cracks at Pacman Jones or Barry Bonds shouldn’t be hard to muster up.

I think the soon to be lovefest between Cat Mobley and the Franchise deserve a Romance on the Hardwood piece.

    But, yeah, where’s Fontana at?

Eeeeee moved from Melbourne to the US a while back, which I think is when he stopped podcasting. He has a page at http://www.hoopsperspectives.com but it hasn’t been updated for quite a while.
