Podcast News: Paradise Studio

As mentioned yesterday, while begging you to go and vote The Basketball Jones for Best Podcast, the boys and I are gearing up to record a new show this Thursday morning — episode ‘one-eight-five,’ if my memory serves me chana masala correctly. (Sorry, I had Indian food last night. Aroma. Yum.)

Thing is, as of right now, Tas and I have little to no idea what we’re going to talk about. Sure, we might ramble on about this hot FIBA action, stir up some more Jermaine O’Neal trade talk, and/or sound off on Rafer ‘Slash To My Lou’ Alston . . . but honestly, none of that junk is that great.

So, we’d really appreciate your input, questions and feedback. Most of you guys here seem pretty S-M-R-T. Most. Of. You.

As always, you’ve got three ways to get at us. This page breaks down two of ‘em. Cheers.

How’s about ranking the divisions in the NBA. There is no question that the West as a conference still rules, but the Atlantic and Central are looking to be pretty good this year. At least one of them should be better than one of the three divisions out West. Oh, and by ‘at least one of them’, I mean the Atlantic.

You guys could debate over which teams still have work to do to improve this offseason, and what moves they can/should make, and also rank which teams you think have improved the most

Talk about who is the worst player in the NBA that also sees significant playing time. Or rather, who hurts their team most? Larry Hughes? Smush Parker? The Cavs have a better winning percentage without LeBron than with him…they need to trade that scrub.

Also, I voted for you fasho.

It might be a little early, speculative and cringe inducing. But for realz: New Orleans is hosting the All-Star game this coming season. WTF? That city’s not ready. Better venues at this point: The Terrordome from Mad Max, Normandy Beach in 1945, an arena placed precipitously atop an active volcano.

Another topic: Reshuffling of NBA cities, Vancouver-Memphis, Charlotte-New Orleans, Charlotte Bobcats popping back, potential Seattle-OkC. Are any of these franchises really making money? Do the backers just want to have a team, to have a team?

Wish you guys could be at the Darko party tomorrow night in Chicago.

Thanks for all the questions, gents. If we don’t get to them in tomorrow’s show, we’ll file ‘em away for later use.

Brian: Have fun tomorrow night, man. I’ll make sure to wear my FD original tee to Kweli’s show.

I am sick of Stephon Marbury. He backs a good shoe company, and now everyone loves him. He is trying to be the next Gilbert, only more annoying and worse of a player. I’d like to see him go to Italy just so the Knicks can move past his aging era and get a decent pg for once.

You can always talk about how much you hate Antoine Walker, that is always funny.

Just talk about Amir Johnson for the full episode. I’ve got a man crush…

But seriously, there’s a fun thread going on over at DetroitBadBoys right now about who you would pick to be an ideal franchise player. This is also being covered on the NBA Fanhouse at AOL. Lots of fun to speculate… What do you two fellas think? And don’t say Bosh, you can’t pick from your home team!

You guys should talk about college football. That could be funny.
