WeTube: Bargnani and Belinelli’s Nike Ad

I’ll admit it: my Italian is horriblio. But if a certain YouTube commenter is to be trusted, Bargnani’s telling Warriors’ rookie Marco Belinelli that he’ll soon be in charge of making breakfast, folding laundry and defending Kobe Bryant. Or something like that.

That’s the worst trash talk ever. This is why Euros can’t be taken seriously. Until they learn how to talk trash at an NBA level (see Yao Ming), they’ll never be able to lead their team to a championship.

For something I didn’t understand a word of, that was extremely entertaining. A lot like Euro porn…or so I’ve heard.

Lucky for you I am fluent in Italian…

He basically said “Marco, United States Americans and such as white basketball players are only good for one thing, shooting the 3. Watch now as I show you how to hit the half court shots…south africa and the iraq”

    that’s it.

I have seen this ad during Italy vs Poland match yesterday. Basically, Bargnani is giving Belinelli advices on how is life in the NBA, like, if yo are a rookie you need to bring the bags of the veterans and so on, while Belinelli is continously shooting shots (and making them). Bargnani ends saying “the most important thing, anyway, is to listen when others are talking” and stops Belinelli. And, as you can see, go to the center of the field and make the shot (like to say: you still need to learn A LOT!)

PS. Next year (or maybe in a couple of years) there will be 3 italians in the NBA: the 3rd will be Danilo Gallinari. If you do not know him watch for him.

Bargnani is telling: You, Belinelli, can’t last for long in the NBA. You played in Bologna where you were threated like an idol. In the NBA You are nothing. You have to bring donuts to team mates and fold their laundry. And you must defend. Everybody knows how you defended in Bologna. You didn’t defend at all! You must defend on tough guys like Kobe Bryant. What will you do with Kobe Bryant? And, most of all, you must learn to listen.

You guys must be from northern italy.

    Those translations are way off.

Danilo Gallinari he won’t just be the next italian, but the FIRST one as quality.

Bargnani is not actually trash talking him. He’s telling him stuff like “In the NBA your not the superstar you were in Europe”, “You’ll be tested by the likes of players like Kobe Bryant”, ” As a rookie you’ll need to carry peoples shoes and bags to court”, “and lastly, you need to listen to other people”
thats when he goes to the half court line and drains it…hope that helps!

I tried learning Italian once. Basically, this thread sums up the language: a bunch of people speaking the same language unable to understand each other. I guess that’s why Tas is Greek, eh?

  13. Domenico at 9:43 am on 09.08.2007

“unable to understand each other” … this is not the case all the three syas the same things…
Anyway it could happen when you got 5 thousands years of culture and history behind you instead of less then 500.

    Have a nice day.

    Ave internautes….
