Carl Landry is in fact a rookie. Out of the second round at that.

The Raptors sent a scout down to Australia to check out Nathan Jawai. No word on how he looked, but his numbers and frame are impressive. He should maybe be called Aussie Robert Tractor Traylor at this point, not Aussie Shaq, but I digress.

Anyways, the NBA has clearly evolved to scouting just about everywhere, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hodge on a summer league team this summer.

The Rockets have done much better when they cut the minutes of Chuck Hayes from low 20s to less than 10. I like Chuck Hayes but he’s looking more and more like he’s a defenisve sub with a limited role, not a rotation player.

Tas, I completely agree the Cavs game is not a true marker of what is to come. I’m of the camp that the Cavs just screwed their financial situation as well as their legit title chances with this deal.

As far as the Suns, it’s very possible they don’t make the playoffs this year. If Golden State gets Biedrins healthy and Denver can play some defense, PHX is gone.

    “cannes” is pronounced like…er…khan.

“cairns” is pronounced like…well, like skeets pronounced it, just with less of an “r” sound to it.

least thats how we do on the west coast.

An interesting look at the human side of the trade involving Bobby Jackson told by Tyson Chandler:

    Definitely worth a read

My Rox are hot, aren’t they boys? Couple of things you neglected to mention (or you just haven’t watched enough Rockets ball)…

Yao struggles big time against small teams. That d-bag JoNoah kind of shut him down last night. I’m not sure what it is about smaller defenders that makes Yao struggle, but he has problems with him (you know what I mean about smaller defenders because, yes, I do indeed realize he is 7′6″ and everyone is smaller).

You mentioned lack of scoring from the bench which is true, but we also have no one to really play the 2 when T-Mac goes out. We do however, have about 37 pg’s on our roster, so if you need to borrow one feel free.

joejoejoe has a great point about C Hayes. I like Chuck but Luis and our sleeper ROOKIE (2nd round pick out of Purdue) Carl Landry have played very well.

I still don’t think we are a title contender, but I won’t mind being wrong. No way can we beat the Lakers and G-State (whom we can’t beat, I think because of small ball), I think the only other teams we would be downed by are Detroit or Boston…probably the LeBrons as well, but outside of that, I honestly believe we can beat anyone else in the West and hope that Orlando makes it out of the East.

stephen jackson played in australia like 7 years ago or somthin

hey i think the bulls are going to get on a hot streak with more scoring with Gooden and Hughes. hopefully they wind up being in the sixth seed since that is still up for grabs and it would prevent them from having to face Boston or Detroit in the first round.
