  2. Papa Chango at 11:37 am on 04.16.2008

    CONGRATS JD!!!

Also, props for having the courage to name your son after Capt. Jack!

Btw, it doesnt get any easier with the 2nd so enjoy your naps whenever/wherever you can.

Are we going to see the pictures that were (incessantly) taken during the show? That was annoying.

Great show nonetheless, and congrats to JD and his wife.

The MVP should really be the same dude I picked November 13th:

    http://www.thebasketballjones.net/2007/11/13/ep-204-we-have-the-power/

Kobe could easily win, and it’s close, but Most Valuable to his team is CP3.

  5. Jimmy at 1:08 pm on 04.16.2008

Congratz JD…Great show guys, you guys need to do a “Showing some Love” segment before the end of the season, to the lottery bound teams.

“Are we going to see the pictures that were (incessantly) taken during the show? That was annoying.”

In the Globe & Mail, this Friday, I think.

And Dear Lord, is that picture going to be AWK-WARD.

  7. Ryne Nelson at 1:33 pm on 04.16.2008

Tas, I agree. That video of Kobe getting hit by the car wasn’t cool….And ‘Whoa Boy’ needs to stay through the playoffs.

  8. goathair at 2:13 pm on 04.16.2008

Tas sounded like he was in outer-space. In a good way.

  9. Alan at 2:30 pm on 04.16.2008

How about some most improved or 6th man love to Travis Outlaw? No one even knew his name before this season and ESPN regularly showed Bo Outlaw’s mug instead of Travis’. It his 5th year in the league and he made a big step in production this year.

Also, the NBA should create a Sophomore of the Year award. It would help sort out the MIP race while still rewarding improving players in a year when many hit the ’sophomore slump’. what do you guys think?

  10. Harris at 3:12 pm on 04.16.2008

damn! the jones is bringin it this week

  11. Bilal at 3:27 pm on 04.16.2008

I would give the MIP to either Hedo or Beno Udrih, or even Alston. Congratulations JD, on a great week.

  12. Bilal at 3:30 pm on 04.16.2008

And I totally agree with Jimmy. Do it for the Warriors, man.

  13. stopmikelupica at 4:58 pm on 04.16.2008

Congrats on the latest rugrat, JD!

  14. NDEddieMac at 5:26 pm on 04.16.2008

Congrats JD, awesome to hear there weren’t too many complications. And begrudgingly congrats Slydog…goodbye hypothetical ballclaw, i’ll miss you

  15. Zerokool at 6:45 pm on 04.16.2008

Firstly, congrats to JD on the child!

Secondly, Jackson Curtis? Fantastic name, and instant street cred since reversed you get 50 Cent’s real name! Booyah! NOBODY is gonna mess with that kid!

  16. joejoejoe at 7:58 pm on 04.16.2008

Congrats on the shorty JD. You should cut in a little Johnny Cash “Jackson” soon to honor the wee one (your new baby, not Skeets).

  17. Bilal at 9:12 pm on 04.16.2008

Did SlyDog stop his Bookit streak? And I really hate the Magic. Last game of the season and every player on the roster has gotten minutes except for Adonal Foyle. It is sick how Adonal is treated in today’s society. He is probably one of the few good guys remaining in the league and Ron Jeremy won’t put his ass on the court. It is sick, I hope Philadelphia kicks tail with that them. Disgusting.

The MVP you say is for this season.
Is that the whole season or 3/4? (do you even remember the first 2 months of the season?)
Because Kobe dogged it the first 20 games. He was badmouthing the team, his teammates and let everyone know he was miserable and played like he didnt care.
Skeets talks about how Kobe has been positive and mentored the young players this year which makes me think he has short term memory.
Break down the season in 4 parts. Tell me who the 5 MVP players in the league where at games 20-40-60-80.
If you have Kobe in the top 5 for the first quarter of the season, you are hallucinating.

The Kobe video was cool. Of course, if there was one of him spread eagle getting pumped like Marcellus in Pulp Fiction, that would be even better.

  19. SlyDog at 12:03 am on 04.17.2008

I sent in my pick earlier today. I did miss it finally, I was a moron and took the Hawks. They played like they were out all night in south beach. I’m 6 up and 6 down with my picks so far tonight. I’m not sure why they didn’t post my pick.

  20. Mike Payne at 12:13 am on 04.17.2008

Congrats JD! Good for you, brother. I’m drinking a beer for Jackson right now. Here’s to a happy healthy new addition to your family.

  21. i hate andrew bogut even though i'm australian and have the same first name at 12:32 am on 04.17.2008

    congratulations on the munchkin JD!

  22. Gourmet Spud at 1:22 am on 04.17.2008

Did you guys broadcast today from the middle of a crime scene?

  23. Will at 1:31 am on 04.17.2008

Hey Tas, I’ve got about 11 handjobs for you…how many times did you say “doing his job”? Jesus christ.

Is it legit to think that Tough Juice could be a MIP candidate? I know he was an allstar last year, but he really settled well into being the best player and leader of that team over the season, and played through a lot of pain. I think that should be a qualifier of every award given, whether we’re talking about Kobe’s finger or Joakim’s face.
