Ep. 301: Ka-Kaw, Ka-Pow

The Basketball Jones — The Fix — Episode 301 (.mp3)
On today’s show, Tas and I discuss The Armadillo Cowboy and his wild-eyed Hawks, the Raptors lack of identity, pathetic Nuggets fans, menacing gang-sign fines, and much, much more. Do enjoy.

Again - KG disappeared in the 4th. He is A-Rod, put on the bright lights and he cracks.
The atmosphere is amazing at Phillips for the playoffs, but I cannot help but wonder - where were these people during the regular season?
I take offense to your questioning Calderon’s performance under pressure. He’s proven in Spain and in euro/world stages that he knows how to lead and win and the pressure he felt there is much, much greater than the fear of disappointing a few eskimos wont dont watch hockey.
I dont think that he can keep up with the speedier young PG’s like CP3, Deron, Monta Ellis. That’s a physical thing. But when it comes to heart.
But Jameer Nelson is a winner? Of what?
A first round matchup?
@Jacob:
1.Shhh… youre not supposed to say that
the emperor has no clothes.
2. Its called jumping on the bandwagon.
First off guys, late congrats on number 300. I really enjoy your show and hopefully I can enjoy it for at least another 300.
Second, 42nd second (That was a good one. Almost.) Skeets, I need to check if something’s wrong with your pronunciation or my ears. Are you saying “eck” cetera? Because that’s what I hear every time you say it which is every other show. And if that’s what you’re saying then you should consult the dictionary.
Go Raptors, go!
(Sorry, couldn’t resist)
Doc Rivers is a pretty terrible coach and he got a free pass through the regular season b/c the Celts were on cruise control and the team was listening to KG anyway. His atrociousness should be a worry if they end up facing anyone except Detroit, in which case both teams would be better off w/out coaches
I’ve got to applaud the guy in the road Johnson jersey on the left in the above photo — Atlanta can’t be an easy place to come out of the closet. Then again, maybe the Archie Manning-looking gent in the blazer grabbing his balls made him feel more confident. Either way, kudos for your courage, sir.
Rob, No question Jose has done big things for Spain’s national team playing along side stars like Gasol, Navarro, Fernandez, Rubio and Garbajosa. I question his ability to be the second option on a team, because on the Raps, that’s often the role he had to fill - something he’s never done before.
Jameer? See: his ability to lead at St. Joe’s. Now, if Calderon was playing with 3 stars like Howard, Lewis and Turkoglu, it’s a different story.
I love the fact that Skeets doesn’t give a shit about the Raps losing when placed in contrast with the Celts/Hawks; I had the same rush going through the whole Nuggets game (save a few JR moments). Go Hawks, I guess.
FYI: Suns-Spurs BDL live blog, tonight, 9:30pm EST. Swing on by and say hi.
Seriously is there a more annoying team than the Spurs? A more hated dynasty? These guys win the cheap way, I and many others have no respect to for their flopping, cheap shots, whining, and mind numbing arrogance
