Skeets and Tas, I totally agree about Horry and West. I saw nothing malicious about it. To be honest, I would do the same thing as well (and I like David West).

Tas, your man-love for Hedo Turkoglu is distorting your ability to objectively view a basketball series.
The Magic are NOT better than the Detroit Pistons and they did not “give away” a couple games. They got BEAT by a Pistons team missing its starting point-guard (also the closest thing to a “star” player that the Pistons have).
A TEAM like the Pistons is far better than a pseudo-team like the Magic with a bunch of 2nd-string guys surrounding a “superstar”…

I think the Magic should have put together a better run, do I think they’re better than Detroit…no. But certainly should have taken more than one game.

You guys seemed testy today… I was waiting for a fight to break out. Which begs the question, who would win in a Skeets/Tas brawl?
@ michelle: Pretty sure Nicola would take both of them out with his ill 6-year-old brand of jiu jitsu. Although, as Tas told us after getting nicked for not wearing his seatbelt, he’s a ton to move in the low paint … center of gravity might be an issue, fight fans.
I was at the game last night, and from where I was at, I couldn’t tell what happened. It looked like West may have just had a spasm and fell to the floor. Even so I was completely embarrassed as a Spurs fan that there were “Horry” chants. Even if it wasn’t a dirt play, which I don’t think it was, you don’t chant shit when a player is down. I’ve been proud to be a Spurs fan bc I always felt like Spurs fans were pretty classy. When the Spurs have won championships, you never saw riots, people flipping over cars etc.. and so when I heard the chants yesterday, I stayed in my seat and felt very embarrassed and could not believe my ears.

The Spurs and their friends at the NBA strike again. Horry certainly knows his role well. Take out the best player on the other team that is killing the Spurs. Last year he was going for Nash but Amare was just a bonus. Last night was so crystal clear, you could see what he was trying to do a mile away. Mark Jackson is an idiot for praising that, I wonder why he’s being passed up for the half dozen jobs available? Just listen to his ‘analysis,’ he’s a moron.
The Spurs fans showed their lack of class yet again chanting Horry’s name for injuring an opposing player with a cheap shot. Well done all you Spurs fans, that’s why you have the most forgettable and hated ‘dynasty’ in sports history. 20 years from now no one is going to look back with any fondness at the way you handled your business and your whiny, dirty, and cheating players will be forgotten. That team is a disgrace to basketball. Good thing they had the refs on their side as well last night, otherwise they may have *gasp* lost fairly. Horry in the hall of fame? His agent should be in the hall of fame for getting him on these good teams. It makes me sick such a wank stain has so many rings.

And the debate as to whether it was dirty or not: You don’t back pick someone when the man with the ball is still 10 feet away coming towards you. You don’t reach out with your arms and jump into someone else’s back unless you want to hurt them. Even the unbelievably bent refs called it a foul- that says it all for me. So now you’re calling out all of San Antonio for some of the fans in AT&T Center chanting. Wow, someone’s an angry elf.
Yeah Michael that’s exactly what I was doing. I bet you wear a Bruce Bowen jersey to games. Or maybe I was calling out the fans that chanted Horry, Horry, while West was on the floor injured. Funny you chose to insult me and pick out one insignificant piece of my post instead of debating some of the points I made. Being a Spurs fan, I suppose that’s an admission that your team is full of whining, cheating, dirty players. Tell me I’m wrong Mike, but I think you know better. I’m completely neutral in all this, I just love bball, and the Spurs are a blight on the game. You can’t just win based on the quality of your play, you have to resort to cheap shots, flopping, and petty bullshit to get by, that’s why all your titles are tainted and everyone hates the Spurs.
So go ahead and call me an Elf or some other gay bullshit, but I’d rather you come back with something of substance, but I think you know the truth about your team

knox dave - oh yeah. you’re neutral. sure. you hate the spurs, so how on earth can you claim neutrality? the very definition of neutral is not picking a side. hating one side sort of violates that condition.
i don’t know what play you saw, but horry didn’t “reach out with [his] arms and jump into someone else’s back”. west jumped back into horry. horry leaned forward a small amount to brace for the impact. if he wanted to injure him, the contact would’ve been a lot harder, and if any other player had been in west’s position we wouldn’t even be discussing it.
call out the fans who chanted horry’s name. that was disgusting. but don’t tar all fans with that brush.

@Knox Dave: Calm down man, that was a line out of that elf movie Will Ferrel was in. I don’t wear Bruce Bowen jerseys to Spurs games, I wear my Manu jersey. And due, look at the play, look it up on youtube. He’s setting the screen before West even jumped up. If you are that injured, you should be on the sideline icing your back. No one is going to treat any player special bc their back is hurting. If you choose to man up and play with an injury, don’t expect anyone to not touch you. Where are the cheap shot Chandler and Bpnzi cries. Nowhere, because SPurs fans aren’t bitching and whining about those plays.
And take out the best player on the other team that is killing your team. Hello, West sucked that game, had 10 pts and was shooting terribly. If he was supposed to take out the best player that is killing the Spurs, he would have gone after Chris Paul.
You say you hate the Spurs. I wonder if it’s because they’ve been the most successfull franchise in the last decade, winning 4 championships in 9 years. Lets be honest here. You would probably love to have Manu on your team. Call him a flopper all you want. The fact is the dude goes out and kicks ass. He plays with a lot of intensity and is great on both ends of the court. But I don’t expect you to like him since he probably tears through your favorite teams defense. Everyone hates the Spurs. Who gives a shit, man. I don’t expect fans of other teams to like them. You talk about whining. Try looking at yourself here, bc you sound really bitter right about now.
