Ep. 329: Embrace The Trophy, Celtics

The Basketball Jones — NBA Finals, Game 6 — Episode 329 (.mp3)

On today’s final show of the 2007-08 season, Tas and I attempt to breakdown Game 6 of the Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals. We discuss, among other things, when strange-girl-momentum swung over to the Celtics, Garnett’s clutch performance, that funny lil’ word called “repeat,” and sweet, sweet Gatorade baths.

Enjoy, friends, and many thanks for a great season.

JD, Tas and I have really appreciated your support. Embrace stuff. Bye.

The People’s Tiebreak: Pair Of Shoes On The Line

The Basketball Jones is giving away a pair of Adidas basketball shoes to the person with the longest streak of picks during the postseason. Since we have a 3-way tie at 3, we’ve got a tiebreaker going on. Each contestant will pick the winner of each game, and guess how many points they’ll win by. The difference of points between the pick and the actual score will be added up after each game, over the course of the series. The person with the smallest number will win the shoes. Finally, a couple picks for Boston. Will it end tonight?

Game 6 Tiebreaker Picks
Sports Tsar: Boston by 4 (Ed.)
C Squared: Lakers by 1 (Ed.)
Hawkboy: Celtics by 4

Tiebreaker Standings
1. Sports Tsar: - (39) (Tas’ Pick)
2. C Squared: +1 (40) (Skeets’ Pick)
3. Hawkboy: +8 (47)

Ep. 327: Put That Notch On Your Bed Post

The Basketball Jones — NBA Finals, Game 4 — Episode 327 (.mp3)

On today’s show, Skeets and I breakdown Game 4 of the Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals. We discuss, um, I don’t know, maybe the game/comeback of the season? Was there nothing the Lakers could do? Where was the MVP? We’ll get to the bench no one was giving credit to, Doc versus Phil, and a whole lot more. We really need a longer show sometimes. Enjoy.
