Chris Andersen: It’s Your Time To Fly

Chris, man. How ya doin’? This may sound weird, but we miss you. You’re our boy, man. It’s at this time every year that we think about you. Everyone remembers your Slam Dunk Performance in ‘05.

You may be gone, but you’re not forgotten. I know you’re trying to make it back to the L, and well, I was thinking, what better place to make your 2nd debut than on All-Star weekend? Here’s the plan: I bought you a ticket for the Skills Competition. Section 101, Row 4, Seat 6. Do whatever you gotta do to get yourself prepared, but you’re on stage right before the final round of the dunk off.

Then, as the 1st guy is getting ready to throw down, you come flying down the aisle on to the court, rip off your disguise, and throw down som’n nasty! No, no, no, no, hold on, forget that. Go clank one good! Miss it, horribly. Make the whole arena die of laughter. They’ll be chanting your name as you’re carried off the court (and don’t worry about security, I got you).

People will love you once again. And, if you’re banned from the league forever, who cares? Let’s face it, you didn’t have much of a career ahead of you. And, think about the marketing opportunties for The Birdman. Think about the hype. Make the contest relevant again man; do it for the people. We need you Birdman.
