It Appears Sonics Fans Are Ready, KD

You might remember this guy from that silly NBA season rap-up video he dropped on the blogosphere way back in May. (Favorite part: the MIMS-inspired “This Is Kobe’s Shot” remix. Bloody brilliant.)

Anyway, he’s back. But this time he’s documenting his day-to-day struggles of trying to be first in line to witness Kevin Durant’s NBA debut. It’s a pretty funny shtick. Especially considering the game isn’t until October 18.

Robert Swift’s Muscles And Tats

Until Antoine Walker ever stops shimmying long enough for his tattoo artist to finally finish that Steve-O-like self-portrait he’s getting done on his back, it looks as though Sonics center — and rebel soul child — Robert Swift will walk away with this season’s best off-season tattoo.

Percy Allen from The Seattle Times reports:

This summer was a period of reflection. He grew his hair out “just because I wanted a change” and returned home where he added four new tattoos.

“Every one tells some type of a story,” Swift said. “I don’t look at them as making me any tougher or mature or anything like that. They just explain me without me ever having to say a word.”

He’s particularly fond of a couple of new tattoos on his arms that read: “Anything Is Possible” and “Just Believe.”

Now I’m no expert with “the ink”, but I imagine Swift’s smooth, pasty-white skin must be every tattooists’ dream canvas, no?

[Update: I just noticed Lang at SLAM! caught this earlier. Here’s his take.]

“Elementary, My Dear Watson”

HolmesWatson
Well it’s not exactly that blockbuster deal we were all looking for, but the Sonics, Nuggets and Blazers have got us started with a little, kinky three-way action today. Yeah, the trade breaks down like so:

Sonics get: Earl Watson, Bryon Russell and a future 2nd round Denver pick.

Nuggets get: Reggie Evans, Ruben Patterson and Charles Smith (who!?).

Blazers get: Voshon Lenard’s expiring contract ($3.5 mil), Vitaly Potapenko and some more bracelets for Ha Seung-Jin.
