4:00p / San Antonio Spurs: Should I simply leave this preview blank? I mean, there’s nothing I can say that will get you excited about this team. Sure, they might plod along to another 60-win season. Hell, they might carry the Larry O’Brien for the 5th time in 10 years come June. But, let’s face it, you don’t give a flying poop about the Spurs. Duncan swears, Parker raps in English, Manu gets a nose job, Longoria gets breast implants. I can’t even make up lies that will get you riled up. Want juicy story lines? Look elsewhere. Actually, watching Bruce Bowen teach his protege, Ime Udoka, how to be a jerk face in practice would be pretty entertaining.
Tas says: 1st in Southwest, 2nd seed
Skeets says: 3rd in Southwest, 5th seed

Just when I thought Duncan couldn’t get any lamer, he goes and does something like this … and totally redeems himself!
Every NBA fan already knows that Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs is arguably the best player in the NBA, but what they may not know is that the three-time NBA Champion is also a huge WWE fan. Since RAW was at the AT&T Center, the Spurs’ home arena, it was only fitting that Duncan was on hand. And it’s also fitting that one of his favorite Superstars is San Antonio’s own Shawn Michaels.
“I watch (WWE) all the time,” said the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player. “I’ve met (Shawn Michaels) a couple different times, and I love to come see the (Superstars). I also love seeing Ric (Flair).”
Fantastic stuff, Timberley, but when are we going to start seeing some of that wrestling personality make it’s way to the court?
I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Duncan “tune up the band” and lay some Sweet Chin Music to Dampier’s ugly mug after an extra hard foul? Oh my God, can you say, “Least Marketable Player to Most Marketable Player in seconds”? Ka-ching!
Or imagine Duncan lettin’ loose a monster, “Woooooooooooo!” and Golden Boy strut after his patented kiss-off-the-glass for two? Wow … tell me that wouldn’t be incredible!
Man, Tim, the possibilities are endless here. You’ve so got to get started on this.

Some quick observations from last night’s Best of the West match-up:
- Scary: If you were from another planet, and last night’s contest was the first and last basketball game you were ever going to see, you would have gone home convinced that Nazr Mohammed is the greatest basketball player in the world.
- Ken: “Jason Terry is the new Sam Cassell. Well, minus Sam’s creepy, fetus-like face.” And yes, Ken pointed this out at least 8 minutes before TNT did.
- As you may recall, fact #10: “If Bruce Bowen really wanted to, Bruce Bowen could stop time.”
- Entrepreneur: Someone needs to make Manu Ginobli the official spokesperson for Argentinean Flip-Flops.
- Ugh: Did Nick Van Exel lose a facial hair challenge with the guys over at Sports Bloggers Live? Yeah, Nick, you got to drop that ugly-ass facial hair champ, and get back to the baby face days. And oh, you might want to try Mach 5’n away a few pounds while you’re at it.
- Truth: Josh Howard’s game is for real. I dig it.
- Question: What’s your opinion on smaller guys wearing ‘big-man’ jerseys? (And of course, vice-versa.) I mean, I’m a 5’10” point guard, right? So, is it cool for me to say, rock an Olajuwon or Barkley throwback, or do I have to stick with guard jerseys only? Discuss.
Update: The Ultimate Manu?
Manu Ginobli is NOT the Ultimate Warrior.
Yeah, I don’t want to blow your mind here people but apparently the Ultimate Warrior is the Ultimate Warrior. Woooooah.
I don’t know how I over looked this considering the Ultimate Warrior is already in the ‘L’, drops 15 a game, and even has his own shoe deal with Nike, but … but … Woooooah.
