Just got my shirt the other day, and it’s sweet. So as promised, here’s how to turn a Jäger-Bomb into a Sager-Bomb. Just add a bit of Pucker to the Red Bull to make it more ostentatious and fruity (like Sager’s wardrobe). I find that one of those small airline bottles is just the right amount. I recommend the red and blue varieties of Pucker for a great color when mixed with Red Bull. Some work better than others, but under no circumstances should you use the green (apple) Pucker. It looks really gross. The blue actually mixes to a very pleasant green color.

I watched the games with Mark Cuban last night; excuse this rant.

Foul calls shouldn’t be reactionary. An official is supposed to call what they see. If they didn’t see anything at all, there shouldn’t be a whistle. Jameer Nelson should not be called because Chauncey Billups goes in to the splits. The ref should make the call on why Billups hit the floor, not the end result. Dwight Howard should not get rung up because Rasheed Wallace takes an out of control shot. What goes through the official’s mind? ‘Sheed was off balance when he released it, therefore, someone must of hit him? No. Wrong. The official didn’t see a bump ’cause there wasn’t one. Hedo Turkoglu shouldn’t get called for the foul when Rodney Stuckey slips out of bounds with the ball. If Stuckey didn’t cross the line, the whistle wouldn’t have blown. Where’s the consistency? (Whoa, I swear I’m not rooting for the Magic.)

It just knocks me off my couch when I see something called only because the fouled player acts out of the ordinary. In a game of runs and momentum swings, every whistle is huge. I’ve put on some baseball umpiring gear in my day; I know what these stripes feel like. They have to have ignorance towards the end result and how the players are reacting and just focus on the actual event.

Players acting this way will never change. Is it because these referees have little experience actually playing the game? I don’t even know if that’s the case, but it sure seems that way. Maybe Cubes was on to something when he pointed out the little talked about international rule changes. This issue always seems to come about when the stakes are raised in the postseason. Just ask my neighbors.

Utah [+7.5] over LA LAKERS (home team in CAPS)

I like the points in both the games … and as tempting it is to pick the Hawks getting 14, I’m sticking with the old rule of only picking a road dog if you think they can win the game outright. As well as the Lakers have been playing, I hope that they are a little rusty and Utah will be physical with them right from the start. Boozer v Pau should be a great matchup, and it’s gonna be interesting to see who the Jazz throw at Kobe (Brewer? AK?). Anyway, I think +7.5 is pretty high for a team as good as the Jazz.

West / Chandler can neutralize Duncan / Oberto and CP3 will continue to show he could easily have been the MVP over Kobe. The Hornets looked like a juggernaut against the Mavs and I think they’re just that good. The season series was 2-2, with none of the games being particularly close. I think NO continues that trend. They’ll come out tonight and shock the Spurs with a 10 point win.

The thrill is gone. Detroit’s beat down last night reminded me that a true talent gap exists in the East. It’s time for Boston to end Atlanta’s nice little run. Boston shut down Atlanta in game 5, and I don’t think the home court crowd will be enough to make up for the fact that the Hawks have a man named Zaza playing center (Ed. don’t give Zaza and his ‘backnee’ too much credit, he comes off the bench).
